Filibuster

The senate is engaged in a semi-filibuster. There have been mutterings about staying in session until midnight if necessary, but as things stand just now (5pm) the senate is only passing local House Bills, and is barely a third of the way through the list of local bills.

All we can do is wait. And hope. And pray.

God, Senator Erwin is the model of democracy isn't he.

Way to let your own simple-minded beliefs interfere with what your country is founded on. It's what America is all about isn't it? Catering to the one person who has a problem with something?

Is that why he has every single bill read at length? Why does he do that?

It's Sen. Butler who's having every bill read at length.

The filibuster going on now has nothing to do with Senator Erwin or our bill. It has to do with the Grocery Tax bill not making it past the BIR.

I've never understood why all the bills presented before the House and Senate shouldn't be heard in the current session. If they filibuster, then they need to continue the session past the last day.

I hate politics.

'Whatever happened to separation of church and state"

Excuse me? There's no such thing! The U.S. Constitution only prohibits establishment of a national religion. So what's that got to do with this???

sheesh.....

Does it make me a nerd that I am listening to the live feed of the senate meetings hoping the bill comes up for a vote?

Mr Erwin is a nitwit. I wish people that labeled themselves conservatives and people for "rights" could look past their overbearing "evangelical christian "outlook. Im sorry to say that they hate when people tell them how to live their lives , but they dont hesitate to shower us with overbearing tracts or dogmatic politico/religious garr-bodge!

I just hope that Senator Erwin's hunger and fatigue get the best of his religious convictions and he doesn't attempt a filibuster.
